Database Upgrade and Eligibility Update

We have recently upgraded our database and there have been updates to eligibility requirements for our supported sport programs. This should not affect the majority of current participants however new participants must provide evidence of their eligibility to participate.

We aim to give people an opportunity to play sport, who may not otherwise have had the chance. However there are some minimum requirements for a player to meet in order for them to be deemed eligible to participate.

For a player to be eligible to play in an Inclusive Sport SA supported sport they must meet two (2) of the following requirements:

  • Have attended a Special Education School (disability unit/supported learning centre)
  • Have attended a Mainstream School with an aide
  • Receive a disability support pension
  • Be registered with a disability service eg Disability SA

Where a person is unable to meet the above requirements, Inclusive Sport SA may meet with them to decide if they are eligible to participate.

If you have any questions with any of the above please contact us on 8122 6730.

Program Coordinators Wanted

Inclusive Sport SA supports many sport programs for people living with a disability. At some programs, a volunteer program coordinator is present to oversee the program and ensure it runs smoothly.

We are currently seeking enthusiastic volunteers to fill the coordinator roles for the following sports:

Indoor Cricket – 5.30pm to 6.30pm Thursdays at Action Indoor Sports Salisbury, Salisbury East

Lawn Bowls – 6.30pm to 8pm Mondays at Clearview Bowling Club, Clearview

Netball – 12.15pm to 2pm Saturdays (during winter months) at Netball SA Stadium, Mile End

Responsibilities include (but not limited to):
–  Overseeing the program – handling issues/complaints if they arise
–  Collecting registration fees
–  Assisting with the set up and pack up
–  Communication link between the sport, participants, parents and Inclusive Sport SA’s Sport and Recreation Coordinator

This is a great opportunity for a student looking for experience in the sports industry or someone who has a passion for working with people living with a disability.
