In July 2015 Inclusive Sport SA partnered with the Education faculty at Flinders University contributing to the HLPE1531 topic–Inclusive and adaptive practices in Sport and Physical Education.
The topic teaches first year students enrolled in education, sport, health and physical activity courses.
Facilitated by our Inclusion Advisor Stephanie Greenland (also a part-time Flinders University Academic Tutor) the students examine the importance of catering for a diverse range of students in Physical Education.
Throughout each semester, first year students critically analyse the social constructions within sport and physical education and explore ways to adapt and modify their pedagogy for a diverse range of people. It aims to empower students to provide meaningful and inclusive opportunities for all people to participate in sport and physical education. Students demonstrate their knowledge of inclusive practice in their major assessment where they develop and produce a professional development resource (video) that advocates for inclusion in sport and physical education.
This partnership with Flinders University will be ongoing and is a great opportunity to highlight the values and purpose of Inclusive Sport SA- to build an inclusive culture in sport and recreation.
