04 Dec Active Inclusion Partners with City of Charles Sturt to Assist Local Sporting Clubs
Active Inclusion (AI) is pleased to announce an exciting new partnership with the City of Charles Sturt (Charles Sturt) which will see AI work closely with Charles Sturt and local sporting clubs and volunteers in the region, as part of the Sporting Club Professional Development program.
As part of the collaboration AI will deliver a comprehensive training program to support local community sport and recreation clubs in Charles Sturt. The program will help strengthen club offerings and create welcoming environments that encourage greater participation, to meet the increasing needs of a wider and more diverse community.
The targeted workshop training content will help build club capacity and offer cross sport collaboration opportunities. It will delve into specific areas of inclusion and diversity practices, digital marketing techniques and stakeholder engagement strategies, assisting clubs to grow their member numbers and offerings to the wider community.
“Sport can be a great social connecter to drive social inclusion and support physical, social and mental wellbeing for individuals to engage in the wider community”, said Active Inclusion General Manager Katrina Ranford.
“And we are excited to work with the team at Charles Sturt to provide educational and personal development opportunities for club volunteers, to create and increase opportunities for all people to participate in local sport on and off the field”.
City of Charles Sturt Recreation and Sport officer, Scott Edgecombe said “COVID-19 has had a significant impact on sport throughout the state this year, and we are proud of the resilience, sense of community and continued commitment that our local sporting clubs have shown during such a trying time”.
“We look forward to working with Active Inclusion to deliver this training. It will be an invaluable tool for local sporting clubs, providing new opportunities and inspiration to grow their sporting communities and ensure they are more accessible to everyone”.
Delivery of the training modules offered to City of Charles Sturt Sport clubs who register, is scheduled to commence in February 2021. More information regarding registration will be made available in the new year.
