What is it?

Behaviour Support SA (BSSA) Counselling is a service offering support and guidance for primary caregivers of people with disability. Our qualified counsellor is here to listen and support you in managing and creating the best form of care for yourself, while you continue to care for others.

We understand that supporting and caring for a person with disability can be a challenging journey, mentally, emotionally and physically and may lead to strain, exhaustion and impact on wellbeing. Unfortunately, this is not only detrimental to our own mental health, it may also impact how we care for others.

BSSA Counselling is specifically for the ‘support team’ – the parents, family members and caregivers of people with disability. The individual sessions are confidential to provide the opportunity to talk authentically through specific lifestyle challenges, address any issues, as well as create space to support their own mental health and wellbeing while continuing to support others.
