C7 Football Finals Time

After 10 rounds of quality football, the Adelaide Footy League C7 Division enters the finals series. There have been many great stories in the season so far and hopefully many more to unfold. Eastern Park Demons, who in their inaugural season of C7 finished on top of the ladder, have earned the right to host Kenilworth Kookaburras in the Major Semi Final on Saturday at 5.15pm. They have notched up impressive wins against all teams in the competition and look set to continue their dominance in the finals series. The Kookas have surprised many teams this season after being winless for a number of years. They will be hoping the fairytale continues against the dominant team in the competition. Goodwood Saints have once again shown improvement this year and only just missed out on a top two finish. They have the biggest squad on paper and will be hoping that depth carries them a long way into the finals. They will be hosting Henley Sharks this Saturday at 5.15pm. Last year’s Grand Finalists, Henley have had a challenging year with the loss of a couple of key players, but will be hoping to recapture some of the form from their inaugural year in 2016. Salisbury Magpies had a tough year in 2017 finishing with the wooden spoon. Unfortunately their coach was unavailable in the second half of the season, so credit must go to those that helped out with the team for the remainder of the season.

PUT THIS IN YOUR DIARY!!

The Adelaide Footy League GRAND FINAL will be taking place on Saturday 19th August at Aldi Arena (Thebarton Oval) kicking off at 5.15pm. This year the Grand Final day’s festivities will also include the presentation of Brian Prestwood Medal for Best on Ground in the Grand Final, the presentation of the Leading Goalkicker Medal, Alan Statton OAM Medal for Most Improved Player and of course the Marie Little OAM Medal for the C7 Best and Fairest Player for the Season!
