A former National Rugby League player, Joe played for South Sydney Rabbitohs, Penrith Panthers and Canterbury Bulldogs before taking up professional Boxing in 2009. Along with a successful boxing career Joe attributes his shift to the sport as a key factor in changing his life, mindset and wellbeing. Now a successful published author and speaker, Joe gives back to community by sharing his struggles with mental health issues to better educate and assist others through his The Enemy Within workshops. “Having Joe Williams join IDS19 is a fantastic development for the conference,” Inclusive Sport SA CEO, John Cranwell had to say of the announcement. “For many clubs and state sport organisations, mental wellness may not typically be on their radar.
