netballSA Rubies are South Australia’s state netball team for players with an intellectual disability. The SA Rubies will compete for the annual Marie Little OAM Shield on Sunday 19 July from 9.00am – 2.30pm at Netball SA Stadium. Marie Little OAM was the founder of AUSRAPID in 1986 and has dedicated her working life to improve the lives of people with an intellectual disability, using the medium of sport. Renaming the event in her name was an honour of her work within the netball community. The inaugural Marie Little OAM Shield began in 2013 with 3 teams contesting the title; Victoria, New South Wales and South Australia. The Marie Little OAM Shield is designed to bring players with an intellectual disability together to represent their State/Territory in an annual competition.
