A number of businesses and government organisations offer grant opportunities to both individual athletes and sporting clubs and associations in South Australia. Grants can offer financial support to athletes in local, state or nation competition or assist local clubs with facilities, infrastructure or participation.

Each grant program listed on this page is subject to the requirements and grant criteria of the relevant organisation and program. For further information on each grant please see the linked websites below or contact your State Sporting Organisation for guidance.

Local Sporting Champions

The Local Sporting Champions program provides financial assistance for coaches, officials and competitors aged 12-18 participating in state, national or international championships.

Community Enterprise Foundation

The Community Enterprise™ Foundation is the charitable arm of Bendigo and Adelaide Bank. Community Enterprise Foundation™ offer communities and not-for-profit organisations across Australia the opportunity to raise and distribute tax-effective donations to benefit their own communities.

Westpac Foundation Community Grants

Westpac Foundation is the organisation’s most established social giving program. As part of the Australian community for 201 years, and Westpac want to continue backing the people who need it most, far into the future. The Community Grants provide up to $10,000 to local community organisations delivering educational opportunities, employment pathways or improving the quality of life for people in need.

City of Adelaide – Recreation and Sports

The City of Adelaide Recreation & Sport Grants Program will provide funding to eligible clubs, groups and organisations that demonstrate consistency with the Active City Strategy 2013-2023 (PDF) outcomes and Value Proposition. The grant program provides four funding categories designed to respond to different needs of the community:

  • Community Funding
  • Programs
  • Events
  • Quick Response
